You may love to claim that “you don’t think that way”. It may not be conscious, but believe me, it’s there. Unless you took the time to unlearn, it’s there.
I had a talk with my boyfriend the other day and I told him that we’re sexist. He was like, well not consciously so. I told him it doesn’t matter. The first step is just to say you are this and unlearn the poison that’s been ingrained in our societal make-up.
It doesn’t matter what type of oppression it is, shitty things have to be unlearned because whether you like to think so or not…it’s already programmed.
